Mealtime Math
"Bacon! I want bacon!" shouted Noah as he eyed the plate.
"Noah, you've already had two pieces of bacon. I think you need to eat something else, like a piece of fruit," I replied.
"No I didn't!" protested Noah. "I only had one." he insisted.
"Noah, you had one piece of bacon and then you had one piece of sausage and then you ate another piece of bacon." I explained.
"Yeah, that's what I said. I had one piece of bacon." said Noah
(I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and shuffled through my brain to figure out his logic)
"Noah, yes -- you are correct, you had one piece of bacon...at a time!" I shared.

All I Want For Christmas
| All I want is a pogo stick, a calendar AND a new front tooth! |
I struck out three times with eBay auctions. Toys R Us offered a $25 discount if I purchased it with a Mastercard however;A. I don't have such a card.
B. It was still too much money.
Thankfully, while I was combing Amazon in search for a pogo stick fit for Natalie's 43 lb frame, I learned that the "Earth's largest bookstore" also sold the Frigate for $43 dollars less than retail and was offering a $30 giftcard plus free shipping to new Amazon customers. I got it for $67. Yippee! Though, once he opens it, he'll probably want me to immediately share in the joy of putting the monsterous galactic starship together with him.
"FRIGGOT."
In response, I'll likely hear, "I know, Mom! Isn't it GREAT?!"

Musings from Natalie #27
When we walked into church Natalie shared how much she liked the decorations and then commented, "There sure are a lot of candles...how old is Jesus anyway?"
"What should I get Grandma for Christmas that she'll love? Hmmm... I can't give her me because I already belong to you, Mommy."

"MOM! Noah pinched me!" yelled Natalie.
"It was an accident," explained Noah.

I Know What You Mean #11
"Mom, can I have one of those old lady apples?" asked Natalie
Hmmm...I think she meant Granny Smith apples.

Musings from Natalie #26
"Mom, God is a good name, but I like Jimmy better," shared Natalie.
"Look, Mom -- I'm making a picture of me and Matty. I just love his spiky hair. He's my boyfriend," explained Natalie, then added with a grin, "but he doesn't know he's my boyfriend."
Obviously still angry with me, after I kissed Natalie good night, she responded by saying, "I erased it!"

What Are You Packing?
You might be a fashion-forward 6 year old if...
you carry emergency bubbles and not one, but two kinds of lipgloss in your purse.
you carry emergency bubbles and not one, but two kinds of lipgloss in your purse.
Let's play a game...what's the oddest thing you can find in your purse? I just cleaned mine out and found a packet of chili pepper seeds. Natalie has been dying to plant a garden...I think this may be a hint.
